Rugged Performance and Capability
There are four main engine choices available within the 2021 Grand Cherokee lineup. At the entry level, drivers will enjoy a 3.6L V6 gas engine making an assured 295 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque, feeding either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Next in line are a couple of gas V8 options, with a 5.7L version making 360 horsepower and 390lb-ft, then a 6.4L V8 taking the output up to an impressive 475 horsepower and 470lb-ft. However, the most supremely powerful engine is reserved for the Trackhawk trim which tops out the 2021 lineup, with a supercharged 6.2L V8 cranking out an amazing 707 horsepower and 645lb-ft of torque, an immense amount of power for what's after all only a two-row SUV rather than a performance coupe or truck.
Impressive Interior Technology
But it's not only under the hood where the Grand Cherokee excels. Every 2021 model includes an infotainment touchscreen of either 7" or 8.4" in size, with an additional 7" digital gauge cluster fronting up the dash.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on every trim to make smartphone connection a breeze, while navigation is available as an option with all the larger touchscreen sizes. Full Wi-Fi connectivity is optional, while families are sure to appreciate the available rear-seat entertainment system providing plenty of distraction for younger passengers.
And lastly, the choice of audio systems spans setups with six, nine, or 19 speakers, with the last one a high-end design provided by Harman Kardon.
Advanced Active Safety
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee received a top rating of five out of five in crash tests by the NHTSA, and supplements the physical robustness with a suite of advanced driver assist technologies. Available options include:
